Using Graphic Novels in the Classroom

Graphic Novels are a form of literature which incorporates both images and text to provide an interactive tale which is easier to follow along. Due to the nature of the graphic novel layout, much of the text is often condensed which makes reading through it faster and simpler. While it does leave out some of the text, graphic novels, especially when remixing a previous novel, holds onto the original themes, characters, and events that are presented in its original format. Graphic novels have been a big hit in Japan and have already been implemented into many classrooms. Graphic novels cover a wide audience and can contain valuable information and literary devices.
